Restriction orifice plate

This type is designed and manufactured basing on flow measurement orifice calculation. (And in case of high differential pressure liquid fluid, it may occur flushing or cavitation if pressure drop is done by one step. So multiple stage orifice is used in general to reduce pressure gradually.) 

Restriction orifice with perforated plate with holes

This type of restriction orifice is used under the condition where cavitation is easily occurred.

By locating throttle holes in dispersion, it can disperse energy of air bubble to be generated at downstream side to lower the noise and erosion.
This type is also used for the purpose of mixing orifice which stirs and mixes the fluid.

 

 

 

Both ends flanged multiple plate restriction orifice

In case of high temperature liquid fluid, or even low temperature but low saturated vapor pressure liquid fluid, it may generate cavitation, or it may cause damage to piping or it may cause excess noise, if pressure reduction is done at high differential pressure. So, it is common to equip a restriction orifice in series to reduce pressure gradually.

The other type, in pipe insertion type is also available.
